Now MySpace to implement Facebook Connect | Another competitor chickens out

MySpace - Facebook Connection

MySpace - Facebook Connection

MySpace now looks to implement Facebook connect across its platform. To what extent this is going to be implemented is not clear yet. We can atleast expect it to be integrated on MySpace Music. So form early 2010 you could use your Facebook login credentials to use MySpace social network. Though I feel this is a great development for users, it still remains a fact that another big player has lost its zeal to fight out the competition and meekly surrenders.

The one time Social Media king MySpace has already said bye to social networking challenge after ex-facebooker Owen Van Natta joined MySpace as the CEO. He said its time to concentrate on the core competence, which is entertainment. MySpace is still the market leader in that segment. It seems they have accepted their defeat in the social networking completion and it is Facebook all over the planet now. The two erstwhile enemies are now on a very cosy relationship with Van Natta being the eye candy. In October there was a content sharing agreement and barely two a month latter they have taken their collaboration to a higher plane with this common connect system.

Two days before Yahoo declared a similar plan to deeply integrate Facebook connect across all its plat forms. Yesterday Google announced its acceptance of  Twitter login into its Friend Connect platform. With Yahoo and MySpace chickening out of Social Networking and Global Identity race the battle is now between Google and Facebook.
