Microsoft SDK launched for Facebook Apps development

by Rooturaj on November 10, 2009

We had development packages dedicated for Facebook apps creation on PHP, Javascript, Flash and iPhone. Now Microsoft has joined the popular league with the launch of SDK for Facebook yesterday (Monday). This would help developers to create applications using Microsoft Silver Light and Windows presentation platform.

According to the recent post on Silverlight blog “Microsoft SDK for Facebook Platform supports the development of applications across Silverlight, WPF, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and Windows Forms”. This is to make extensive use of Facebook APIs available at Facebook Open Source Stream. SDK team assures us that process won’t be ‘daunting’ as they have included a collection of examples, templates and controls.

For the information of our readers Microsoft invested 240 million USD in Facebook in Oct, 2007. This was then seen as a ploy to keep Google and Yahoo from doing the same. Since then Facebook has been a close friend for Microsoft. Facebook even denied Google the live updates feed that it wanted for its live search project and the deal went to Bing.
