Facebook threatens legal action against sites involved in follower trade

by Rooturaj on November 24, 2009

Facebook has made it clear that trading in its users is a violation of its rights and there will be legal action against the violators. Hot in Facebook scanner is uSocial, a site that lets it customers buy Facebook Friends and Twitter followers in blocks.

After receiving a Cease and Desist letter from Facebook, uSocial made some drastic changes to its operating practices. Now there is a “we are in no way affiliated with Twitter or Facebook.” declaration in the site-wide footer. Though we hear that they might have to terminate their Facebook User gathering service, all we think that’s coming up is the way they do this. Facebook alleges that uSocial sends spam and harvests profile pages and login information that is a breach of its rights. Right now the portal charges $197 to get you 1000 targeted friends on Facebook.. If they are genuine followers then I say it’s a huge plus to your social media marketing strategies.

The same site being accused here also sell twitter followers in blocks ranging from 1,000 to 100,000.  We hear that uSocial might terminate the Facebook friends selling program. At the same time they also make it clear that the service could be restarted in future and in that case FaceBook will be notified of the developments beforehand.
