Spring Design has unveiled a new type of ebook reader for the Android platform – the Alex.
A dual screen ebook reader (patented Duet Navigator™) which displays a monochrome EPD (electronic paper display) screen along with a dynamic hyperlinked multimedia information & third party content in its secondary color LCD screen provides full Internet browsing over Wi-Fi or mobile networks such as 3G, EVDO/CDMA and GSM.
Pioneering its patented dual-screen device with ‘touch and extend’ capability in 2007, Spring design is currently in discussion with major content partners and plans to release the device in collaboration with specific partners by the end of this year.
