iPhone 3G’s liquid detection sensors abuse

There are recent reports from iPhone users who have faced rejection from iPhone support based on the external sensors tripping off, warning liquid damage. According to the terms and conditions set by Apple for repair and replacement of iPhone handsets, the warranty for the device is void if liquid damage is detected.

The matter of concern is “What causes the external sensors to trigger?” Can it go off if humidity levels are high or if your hands are extremely sweaty? Most of the times support staff say the sensors going off definitely means there has been a complete liquid immersion at some point of time or serious liquid exposure. But users have sworn that such a thing has never occurred. What do we do in this situation? If you are sure your device has not faced considerable liquid threat and yet the sensors have tripped off then here is some thing you can do to claim the warranty.

Ask for an examination of internal detectors. You can’t get this done that easily as junior executives are not authorized to get them examined. For them the corrosion of external sensors will suffice as a reason to nullify your warranty. Talk to some higher official and convince him of the situation. Many people have got replacement for their iPhones this way. So don’t loose heart and fight for your right.
